Tales Of Eternia Is Getting A Proper Physical Release On Switch

Bandai Namco is bringing its role-playing game Tales of Eternia Remastered to the Switch and Switch 2 next month, and some more information about the physical release has now been uncovered.

While it’s apparently a “digital-only” release in the US, according to Nintendo Everything, there will be physical options elsewhere. If you are planning on picking up a hard copy, and want a proper version with “everything” on the game cart, you’ll want to go with the original Switch release.

As for the Switch 2 physical release, this has been confirmed as a “Game-Key Card”, so a download is required. Bandai Namco has already released GKC for previous Switch 2 releases, so it’s not all that surprising.

If you are hoping for an upgrade or anything like that, Nintendo’s website notes how there’s apparently “no Nintendo Switch 2 Edition upgrade pack” and “save data cannot be shared” between the Switch and Switch 2 versions of the game. This is a bit different to certain other Bandai Namco Switch releases, which have offered free upgrades for existing Switch owners.

“A separate Nintendo Switch 2 version is available for purchase. There is no Nintendo Switch 2 Edition upgrade pack for the Nintendo Switch version.”

Thankfully, the remaster’s performance on the Switch and Switch 2 is the same “60fps”. However, the game runs at different resolutions on these platforms. You can find out more about this in our previous coverage here on Nintendo Life:
