Scalping in the Pokémon TCG world became a big problem a long time ago, but it seems to be getting out of control at the moment.
The latest incident, shared via a viral video posted by POKESTREETZ OFFICIAL (thanks, IGN), shows an individual apparently punching another man, subsequently resulting in a four-year-old girl being hurt in the scuffle.
The incident took place at a Target store in Lisbon, Connecticut. The video shows two individuals who reportedly filled their shopping trolley with Pokémon TCG products, flaunting the two-product limit enforced by Target.

The two men were recorded by another man and his girlfriend, who berated them for trying to buy so many products in one go. After they arrived at the check-out counter, one of the individuals in question threw a punch at the man recording. This caused him to drop his phone, meaning that what followed could not be seen on camera.
According to the YouTube upload, however, the man who was punched fell into a four-year-old girl, hurting her elbow, and you can clearly hear someone crying in the footage. As he went to check on her, the man who threw the punch reportedly fled the scene, leaving his wallet behind.
And so, upon returning to the Target branch to recover his wallet, the individual was arrested.
This is way beyond a joke at this point. It needs to stop. The growing culture around scalping TCG packs is casting a dark cloud upon what should otherwise be a harmless hobby. Honestly, people like Logan Paul have a lot to answer for, but that’s never going to happen, of course.
One individual in Japan even posted images of Pokémon cards littered across the ground, speculating that scalpers had simply tossed them aside after failing to find anything even remotely valuable. It’s ridiculous.
