Mega Man Dual Override – Proto Man Trailer Deep Dive
Capcom recently dropped a new trailer for Mega Man Dual Override, showcasing Proto Man. During the latest showcase, the game’s director and producer did a “deep dive”.
The title of the game references the game’s two playable heroes. Mega Man is a balanced character “capable at both close quarters and long range” and Proto Man deals more damage and focuses on close-range attacks.
The two characters means playing each stage is now “twice as fun”. The lead also detailed how there are now “three areas per stage”, allowing “gradual progression and expanded gameplay”. Over 50 custom chips will build on this, allowing Mega Man and Proto Man to use various active and passive abilities.
This trailer, as you might recall, also introduced Twinkle Girl – the first Robot Master. The team designed her to “capture the satisfying essence of classic Mega Man gameplay, so learning her attack patterns and rhythms is really the key”.
Players will also have access to the new “Override” ability, which is a powerful move that can change battles, and allows players to keep pushing forward. Capcom says it will share more news in the future as it gets close to the Spring 2027 launch on Switch & Switch 2.
