Kelly Osbourne Details Final Talk With Ozzy Osbourne Before His Death

Watch: Kelly Osbourne Says She, Sister Aimee Osbourne Will Never Reconcile After Estrangement

Kelly Osbourne will never forget the final moment she had with her father.

Over a year after Ozzy Osbourne died of a heart attack at the age of 76, the former reality star shared the last conversation the two had, including how the Black Sabbath frontman helped her prepare for his eventual death.

“He sat me down, and this was about three days before he died. He goes, ‘You can live the rest of your life knowing that there was one man on this planet that truly loved you,” Kelly shared on the Sept. 15 of the We Need to Talk podcast. “I started to cry.”

“I said, ‘Please don’t talk like this. Please don’t talk like this,’” she recalled. “’Cause he said, ‘You know, I’m not going to be here forever.’”

The talk with her father certainly left a lasting mark on the 41-year-old—who shares son Sidney, 3, with ex-fiancĂ© Sid Wilson—as she also noted how grateful she was to mom Sharon Osbourne for helping her dad find peace before his passing.

“My mum allowed him to die the happiest I’d ever seen him,” Kelly said. “All he wanted before he left this planet was one last show. My mum worked her ass off to make that happen, and it was one of the most incredible moments in music history.”

And Kelly knew “there’ll never be anything” like the July 2025 “Back to the Beginning” farewell concert celebrating Ozzy.

“It was all the people that got to be who they are because of him coming to pay tribute to him,” she shared, “and he got to say goodbye, and then he let go.”

In the months following Ozzy’s death, Sharon—also mom to kids Aimee Osbourne, 42, and Jack Osbourne, 40—also reflected on the last words her longtime husband said to her.

“He was up and down to the bathroom all night, and it was 4:30 a.m., and he said, ‘Wake up,’” she tearfully shared onPiers Morgan Uncensored in December. “I said, ‘I’m already bloody awake, you’ve woken me up.’”

“He said, ‘Kiss me,’” she continued. “And then he said, ‘Hug me tight.’”

As she looked back on the late-night encounter, the 73-year-old wished she realized what a special moment it was.

“If only I’d have told him I loved him more,” she continued. “If only I’d have held him tighter.”

Ozzy, born John Michael Osbourne in Birmingham, England, in 1948, struggled with school early on. It was his passion for music that ultimately helped him move forward.“I left school with a little more education than when I first started going,” he told The Associated Press in 2010. “Because of my dyslexia, I couldn’t learn. So, I was teased a lot by one of my sister about not bing able to read. It’s very shameful.”“If it wasn’t for The Beatles turning me onto music in a big way, I don’t know what I would have done,” he continued. “Music has been the main thing that got me out of the area, the place I was born.”

Ozzy—as a solo artist—took the stage at Madison Square Garden for his Diary of a Madman tour, just two days after he infamously bit into a dead bat that was thrown onto the stage, which he believed was fake.”I just thought it was a rubber bat,” Ozzy said in the documentary, “and I just put it in my mouth and crunched down. I just f–king bit into it, you know, being the f–king clown that I am [and was like], ‘Oh no! It’s real.'”Later that year, he married his manager, Sharon Arden.
