If you need a jolt of excitement, call John Mulaney.
The prolific stand-up comedian and former Saturday Night Live writer must have been channeling his time at 8H because he delivered a mini stand-up set at the 2026 Emmy Awards that wouldâve felt right at home on Weekend Update.
During the Emmys, Mulaney was on hand to present the award for Best Lead Actor in a Drama, an honor that went to The Pittâs Noah Wyle. As to be expected, Mulaney came prepared, joking that this specific award was just âfor the guys,â (just men being men) before noting that these nominees werenât soft like âthe dad on Bluey.â
Wow. Poor Bandit. But, as it turned out, Bandit Heeler wasnât the only one catching strays at the Emmys.
Near the end of Mulaneyâs monologue, he mentioned DJ Khaled, but his joke was censored. What exactly did Mulaney say? You donât need to be an expert lip reader to put two and two together.
âI believe it was DJ Khaled that said âReal men donât go down on their wives,’â Mulaney said as the audience erupted in laughter. âBut, butâŚthese nominees know that is BS. They KNOW thereâs often less pressure on them if they do that first.â
Mulaney was referencing Khaledâs now-infamous 2015 interview where he said that he doesnât perform oral sex on his wife because there are âdifferent rules for men.â Also, one last note related to Mulaneyâs Emmy monologue: Frank Vincentâs âA Guyâs Guide to Being a Manâs Manâ is available to buy on Amazon.
