Watch: Dakota Mortensen Debuts Taylor Frankie Paul Tattoo in Secret Lives of Mormon Wives Season 5 Trailer
Come ye saints and come ye sinners because The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives is back.
Season five premieres on Hulu Sept. 10, and a lot has gone down with MomTok since season four started unfolding six months ago. And while fans may have read the headlines, Mayci Neeley noted in the recent trailer “there’s so much stuff the public doesn’t know.”
Let’s start with Taylor Frankie Paul. While season four ended with the TikToker heading off to film The Bachelorette after spending the night with on-again, off-again boyfriend Dakota Mortensen, fans never saw her hand out the roses. Because days before her Bachelorette season was set to premiere in March, TMZ published a video from a 2023 physical altercation between Taylor and Dakota for which she was arrested that year and pleaded guilty in abeyance to aggravated assault (her charge was recently reduced from a felony to a misdemeanor).
ABC canceled Taylor’s season of The Bachelorette, she and Dakota filed dueling protective orders against each other and the exes engaged in a custody battle over their 2-year-old son Ever (Taylor also shares 9-year-old daughter Indy and 6-year-old son Ocean with ex-husband Tate Paul).
After a brief pause, Secret Lives of Mormon Wives resumed filming in April. As for the fate of Taylor’s Bachelorette season, she revealed in a Mormon Wives sneak peak that she got engaged to one of her suitors, but that she and Dakota reconnected once she returned home. In fact, the season five trailer showed her asking him why he got a tattoo of her initials.

Meanwhile, Whitney Leavitt has announced that this season will be her last. Last season, fans watched her compete on Dancing With the Stars along with Mormon Wives castmate Jen Affleck. Tension brewed between the two, and the trailer for season five hinted they hadn’t fully settled their beef.
After competing on DWTS, Whitney played Roxie Hart in Chicago on Broadway. She’ll be returning to the stage in December as Sandra Dee in Just in Time. But first, Whitney, with her new ‘do, will be cheering on husband Conner Leavitt—dad to their kids Sedona, 6, Liam, 4, and Billy, 22 months—as he competes on the new season of Dancing With the Stars.
As for Jen, she’s dancing into a new chapter herself: Not only have she, husband Zac Affleck and their kids Nora, 4, Luca, 3, and Penelope, 14 months, moved to Orange County—where she’s appearing on a Secret Lives of Mormon Wives spinoff—but she also announced in June that the couple are expecting baby No. 4.

And while fans know the Mormon Wives cast loves a dirty soda, the season five trailer suggested viewers will get tea on Jessi Draper’s split from Jordan Ngatikaura.
Followers got a glimpse into the unraveling of the pair’s relationship last season, including Jessi accusing Jordan of emotional abuse (he told People in March he takes “full accountability for the pain” he caused her during their marriage) and noting she kissed and had an emotional affair with Vanderpump Villa’s Marciano Brunette.
However, it wasn’t until a week after season four dropped that Jordan—whose blended family with Jessi includes their kids Jagger, 6, and Jovi, 3, as well his 14-year-old daughter Peyton from a previous relationship—filed for divorce, with Jessi sharing more details about their marriage and breakup on Call Her Daddy later in March.
The headlines continued that month after the JZ Styles mogul kissed Chase McWhorter, the ex-husband of her Mormon Wives costar Miranda Hope. Jessi then began sparking romance rumors with Marciano. And while she told E! in May that she was “single” and “having fun,” the two have since seemed to confirm their relationship, posting photos of them kissing and him showing off his new J tattoo.
And it appears she isn’t the only one who’s found love again after a breakup. Miranda—who shares two kids with Chase—debuted both her new song “FU4THAT” and her romance with Kaleb Winterburn from TikTok’s Montana Boyz this summer.
In addition, Layla Taylor—who dated Chase’s brother Mason McWhorter last season before confirming their split in February and has sons Oliver, 5, and Maxwell, 4, with ex-husband Clayton Wessel—shared she has a girlfriend after coming out as bisexual in June.
Otherwise, Layla is staying busy modeling—signing with an agency earlier this year—and has continued to speak openly about her health, including the hernia she developed after plastic surgery complications and treatment for an eating disorder. As she wrote in a June Instagram post, “healing from my ED has been so hard yet so incredibly rewarding.”
Mikayla Matthews has also continued to keep fans updated on her health journey. Over the years, she’s shared her battle with chronic illness and skin conditions, flare-ups and experience with sexual abuse as a child. And after season four aired, she detailed how mold was found inside her home, noting it was making her ill and leading her to travel both around the U.S. and Europe (including Germany) in her pursuit of healing.
Season four also ended with Mikayla separating from her husband Jace Terry, father to their kids Beckham, 9, Haven, 7, Tommie, 4, and Lottie, 13 months. However, the couple seem to be working things out as they’ve appeared by each other’s sides in both the season five trailer and on social media.
As for her BFF Mayci, she’s staying busy with her businesses—including Babymama and Jonesy Jewelry—and family life with husband Jacob Neeley and three children Hudson, 10, Harlow, 5, and Charli, 13 months.
So yes, you could say season five has a lot to cover in just five episodes. And if you’re hoping for a season six, well, consider your prayers answered.
But for now, keep reading to learn more about the Secret Lives of Mormon Wives stars’ relationships.
