We don’t have all that long to wait before Nintendo Switch Sports Resort launches on Switch 2 on 22nd October, and today, Nintendo has shared a few more details of what we can expect.

Chief among the newly revealed features is free island exploration. As showcased in the new trailer, you’ll be able to make your way around Wuhu Island by skateboard, jet ski, or plane, and there are even collectible hibiscus flowers and Spocco Photos to collect while you’re at it.

The trailer also showcased a new offline mode called ‘Island Crown’, which’ll see you challenging Island Champions and Legends (hello, Matt) in each sport to rise through the ranks and declare yourself the best of the best.

Playing the game in any mode will grant you Spocco Points, which can be cashed in for various cosmetic options to customise your Mii — no need to play online for random unlocks any more!
