Watch: Lindsay Clancy’s Ex-Husband Patrick Clancy Speaks Out on Mistrial Over Death of Their 3 Kids
Kevin Reddington is standing by the Clancy family.
While navigating the next steps for his client Lindsay Clancy after her case ended in a mistrial on Sept. 4 over a deadlocked jury, the attorney is defending her ex-husband Patrick Clancy from online theories that have emerged.
Among them includes the allegation he was somehow involved in the murders of his and Lindsay’s three children in 2023—deaths Lindsay admitted to carrying out before attempting to take her own life.
For Reddington, the 9-1-1 call placed by Patrick is enough to clear him of any suspicion. “No actor in in California could ever imitate that,” the attorney said during his Sept. 9 appearance on CBS Mornings. “It’s obvious that Patrick was a man who stood by his wife through all of the difficulty of the medical issues, the psychiatric issues, the pharmaceutical issues, and even up to the time of trial and even afterwards.”
“The man ought to be able to move on with his life,” he continued, “and stop with the speculation and horrific conspiracy allegations that he was involved with some massive conspiracy to kill his children.”
Emphasizing that Patrick “is entitled” to put this chapter behind him, Reddington shared an additional point for those still unsure about Patrick, who married Dr. Rachel Danis in April 2026.
“The fact that he’s moved on with his life, and still is standing by Lindsay,” he said, “as far as the legal issues, tells the tale.”

Reddington also shared some insight into how Lindsay is faring after the mistrial.
“Not well in the sense that she’s disappointed,” he said. “She’s sad. And she still has the same affect that she’s had for three and a half years. Thankfully, she’s getting great psychiatric treatment, medical treatment at Tewksbury.”
After welcoming her three children Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 8 months, Lindsay began suffering from postpartum depression and psychosis, with Reddington arguing she was not guilty of murder by reason of insanity.
For Reddington, the trial continuously proved the need for more awareness of and medical treatment for postpartum psychosis.

“It’s so easy for people to say, ‘Oh, come on, you don’t hear voices that you’re making that up. You’re lying. You’re evil,’” he said. “Because it’s easier to punish someone. It would be so easy for a lot of people if we could just put Lindsay in jail and say, This is terrible. She’s evil and guilty.’”
“No one is discounting the horrific loss of those kids, let alone Lindsay Clancy, who is well aware and lives with that every day,” he emphasized. “No one is discounting those children in reference to postpartum psychosis, the medical treatment, the lack thereof, psychiatric treatment, the lack thereof, the way we treat pregnant women that have babies, that have psychosis.”
A hearing to determine next steps for Lindsay is scheduled for Sept. 29. Read on for a look back at the trial’s most significant moments.
