Freaky Hands Irish Horror ‘The Restoration at Grayson Manor’ Trailer

The Restoration at Grayson Manor Trailer

“All this anger is going to affect the baby.” Chroma has unveiled an official trailer for The Restoration at Grayson Manor, an Irish horror creation made by the filmmaker Glenn McQuaid. This is set for a limited theatrical release starting in October during horror season before it’s on VOD later this year. It’s a horror film about haunted mechanical hands with a mind of their own! Glee’s Chris Colfer stars as Boyd Grayson, a hedonistic heir who torments his legacy-obsessed mother, played by the genre icon Alice Krige. When an accident leaves Boyd handless, she rebuilds him with prosthetics wired to his subconscious, hands that act on his most violent urges. Inside their decaying Gothic estate, those hands will unleash horrors on Grayson Manor. Chroma is excited to be bringing this fun Irish horror to audiences across Ireland and the UK later this year. It premiered at Fantastic Fest last year & this year’s Dublin Film Festival. Starring Chris Colfer, Alice Krige, Daniel Adegboyega, Declan Reynolds, Gabriela Garcia Vargas, Issac Cairns, Dave Byrne, Matthew McMahon. This looks super kooky and freaky and weird and all kinds of horrifying fun.

Intro from Fantastic Fest: “Boyd Grayson (Chris Colfer) is an Irish playboy who delights in bringing men home to his sprawling family estate for sex, just to spite his legacy-obsessed mother, reminding her she’ll never get the grandchildren she craves. When an accident leaves him incapacitated, Boyd finds himself handless, helpless, and at the mercy of her care. Luckily for Boyd, his mother’s familial wealth has given him the opportunity to be the first person in the history of the world to pilot an experimental technology: mechanical hands controlled entirely by his subconscious. Soon, however, the hands begin to move on their own… even when they’re not attached to Boyd’s body. Director McQuaid embraces the melodrama with a sharp eye and fearless sincerity, grounding the film’s outrageous horror premise in real emotion.

The Restoration at Grayson Manor is directed by Irish filmmaker Glenn McQuaid, director of the film I Sell the Dead previously, and many episodes of the “Tales from Beyond the Pale” horror podcast series. The screenplay is written by Clay McLeod Chapman and Glenn McQuaid. Produced by Deirdre Levins, Brendan McCarthy, John McDonnell. This initially premiered at Fantastic Fest 2025 last year, and it also played at the Dublin Film Festival & Overlook Film Festival this year. Chroma debuts McQuaid’s The Restoration at Grayson Manor in select US theaters in October 2026 this fall, then out on VOD starting December 1st.
