Mullin said on X that there was “no panic.”

A Coast Guard plane carrying Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin had to make an emergency landing Wednesday afternoon at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, multiple sources told ABC News. 

Mullin said on X that there was “no panic” during the incident, which sources said occurred after the aircraft lost its right engine.

There were 14 people, including the secretary, onboard the 25-year-old plane, according to sources.

“The United States Coast Guard pilots made the single engine landing feel routine,” Mullin said on X. “No panic, just straight professionalism. After we landed, the pilots told me that was a first for them! We could not have been in better hands.”
