Where can you find a man like Rick Springfield?
It seems you can find the “Jessie’s Girl” singer showing off his toned physique while performing on stage without his shirt, which has turned the heads of more than a few fans.
Indeed, days after his 77th birthday on Aug. 23, footage of Springfield performing shirtless during his ongoing national concert tour circulated on social media, prompting viewers to express their shock at how young he looked.
“He must be doing something right,” one user wrote on X Aug. 31. “Still looks and sounds great and a full head of hair to boot. Good for him.”
Meanwhile, another added, “Who’s his chef, trainer and doctors? I’ll buy whatever serum he’s taking.”
As for how Springfield maintains his youthful look, he recently shared his mindset is simple.
“I work out every day,” he told local Idaho news station KIFI in an interview published Aug. 27. “I eat well, I love what I do and, as Clint Eastwood said, ‘Don’t let the old man in.’”
The Grammy winner has also credited his wife Barbara Porter—with whom he tied the knot in 1984—with whipping up a healthy-minded menu of meals, including scrambled eggs or egg whites for breakfast, a protein shake and plenty of water.
“I play the guitar, she cooks the food,” he quipped to Men’s Health in November. “Fair division of labor. She’s great at that, and I’m moderately proficient at the guitar thing, so it’s working out.”

Still, Springfield has previously reflected on how getting older has prompted “a bit of shock” because of his fellow 70-year-olds.
“It makes you understand your age,” he told People in 2024. “I still feel like I’m in my 20s in my head, and then you see people dying from old age disease and you go, ‘Wow, I’m the same age as old people.’”
