Watch: ‘Love Island USA’ Star Trinity Tatum Addresses Rumor She Was Kicked Out of Season 8 Reunion
Melanie Morenoand Sincere Rhea are telling the whole truth this time.
Nearly two months after the Love Island USAcontestants placed third during the season eight finale behind winners Trinity Tatum and Bryce Dettloff and runners-up Aniya Harvey and Carl Schmidt, Melanie and Sincere confirmed they are still dating, but taking it slow.
“We are not boyfriend and girlfriend,” Melanie said during the Love Island USA season eight reunion Aug. 31. “We are kind of just seeing what happens in the outside world.”
“I think he’s building that trust,” she added of her partner. “I think we’re building it. We’re seeing how it goes.”
And Sincere is OK with taking time to regain her trust and exploring their connection in the real world.
“We’re on the same exact page as far as, you know, being—it’s not like we met each other at a bar,” he said. “Being able to just take it slow and really get to understand each other outside of here.”
Melanie and Sincere’s time in Fiji wasn’t always paradise. Although the pair earned third place, the latter’s feelings for bombshell Sol Dean—who was eliminated on day 14 after a week in the villa—had become a major point of contention.
“In that moment when I was exploring Sol, I did want to get to know her,” Sincere admitted to Melanie during movie night. “But at the end of the day, I know where I wanted to be and the choice I wanted to make.”
“I’m apologizing to Melanie here,” the 25-year-old continued after the group watched clips of him cozying up with Sol, whom he also kissed in the Speakeasy. “Seeing that just makes me feel really bad because it looks really bad and because it was really bad.”
Although Melanie ultimately forgave him for not being transparent about his connection with Sol, their relationship took an even worse turn after she saw a clip of Sincere telling bombshell Amora Robinson, 21,that he would have picked her if they had more time at Casa Amor.

“You’re just a bulls–tter to me,” Melanie, 24, said during the second episode of movie night. “I f–k with you. You know I like you, and you keep doing the same s–t to me over and over again. I’m embarrassed, dude.”
“I look stupid ’cause I keep picking you,” she continued before walking away from her fellow contestants. “When are you gonna fix it? ‘Cause you’re not fixing anything. You’re making it f–king worse, and I look stupid.”
Alas, Melanie and Sincere reconciled three episodes later during the karaoke challenge. And the following episode, he told her that he envisioned them getting married and having children together.
Although the couple was looking forward to exploring their romance outside of Fiji, their loved ones expressed hesitation about their relationship.

“I came here to correct you,” Sincere’s dad Benjamin said to him during family day. “I would never let someone sit at a table with me that moved like that. That don’t work, man. You gotta move better.”
“You’re not using your head,” he emphasized. “You’ve got this beautiful woman standing on 10 toes waiting for you, and you’re out here still exploring. You’ve got to know when to say when.”
Meanwhile, Melanie’s sister Steph urged her to leave the relationship in the villa.
“I know you came here to find somebody, and it’s not here, Melanie,” she said. “I’m telling you, it’s not here. You deserve better.”
