Earlier this week on Dynamite, Mercedes Moné mangled the hand of Willow Nightingale. Rumblings came out that the injury wasn’t just for show. Willow suffered a hand injury, then AEW shot that scene to explain the injury on screen. Willow has a date with Mercedes to defend the AEW Women’s World Championship at All In on Sunday (Aug. 30, 2026), so there were questions if the injury would impact Willow’s availability for the match. During Collision, AEW offered an update on Willow’s status.
Commentary explained that they don’t know the severity of Willow’s injury, but she is cleared to compete at All In.
We also saw a glimpse of Willow with her hand bandaged. After Mercedes defeated Isla Dawn, Willow came to the ring to tussle. The CEO retreated. Willow cut a promo with confidence that Mercedes won’t take her smile nor the world title from her at All In.
The interesting part of this clip is observing how Willow’s hand will be wrapped for the fight. Will she be able to execute the gutwrench powerbomb finisher with the lack of mobility in her left hand? I suppose Willow could just pounce Mercedes into oblivion instead. I would pop for that.
