Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition officially launches for the Switch 2 this week, and more footage of this version of the game is now surfacing online.

YouTube channel ElAnalistaDeBits has shared a “final graphics comparison”, placing the Switch 2 version alongside the PlayStation 5 version.

While there is apparently some “room for improvement” in terms of performance and some visual compromises, overall, it’s a respectable port. Here’s the rundown:

The Nintendo console version offers only one display mode with an unlocked frame rate that typically hovers around 30 fps.

There are some visual compromises compared to the PS5, but there aren’t any major differences beyond the vegetation and a few effects.

Dynamic resolution does negatively affect the game’s visuals in some areas where the internal resolution is too low.

Elden Ring is one of those cases where, if you choose the Nintendo Switch 2 version, the most recommended option is to play it in handheld mode.

In our own review here on Nintendo Life, we said the genre-defining game was a tremendous achievement on Nintendo’s hybrid hardware, and one of the finest games you can currently play in the Switch 2 library, even with the occasional frame drops.
