Come right back here back at the normal start time of 8 pm ET. That’s when the NXT live blog will kick off in the space below once the show starts on the CW.

WWE NXT RESULTS AND LIVE BLOG FOR AUG. 25

I’ve worn out always being afraid, an endless stream of fear that I’ve made. Treading water full of worry, this frantic tick tick talk of hurry and now I’m here to liveblog this pro wrestling show for you, folks.

I sit down a minute late so there was probably some kind of recap business at the exact top of the show but right now we’re getting entrances for our opening contest!

Dion Lennox vs. Saquon Shugars (Weaponized Steel Cage Match)

Right into it brawling in the middle of the ring, Lennox with a boot, Shugars stops him from smashing his face into the cage but he hesitates too long on a catapult and Dion kicks him away! Saquon with a slap, right hands, Lennox comes back with steel chair shots and gets a cover for two! Lennox takes Shugars’ belt off of him and whips him with it before using it for a loaded punch for two!

Dion follows it with a powerbomb into a steel chair, Saquon puts a trash can on his head, nails him with the lid a few times, off the top with a missile dropkick to the trash can… NO DEAL! Lennox doing some hardcore Feng Shui with chairs… AND HE SLAMS SHUGARS INTO THE BACK-TO-BACK BACKS OF THE CHAIRS AND SENDS US TO BREAK!

Back from commercial, Shugars throws Lennox face-first into the cage wall a few times, getting fired up, Dion tries to throw him in return but Saquon catches himself in the turnbuckles and lands a diving crossbody! Shugars puts him throat-first into a kendo stick in the cage, chains a backbreaker into a reverse STO into a chair, cover… NOT ENOUGH!

Saquon climbs up top for a weapon but Lennox cuts him off and spinebusters him through a trash can… STILL NO! Shugars gets his baseball bat and goes to town, hitting Dion a few times before spiking his throat into the pommel! Lennox gets his wits enough to throw a chair into Saquon’s knee, hangs him in the Tree of Woe and nails him with a vicious chairshot to the knee… STILL SHUGARS KICKS OUT!

Dion using the bat to help him out with a calf slicer but Saquon smashes his head into a handy trash can lid to break the hold! Lennox with a knee, dragging a table around and setting it up. Taking Shugars up in the turnbuckles, jockeying for position, Saquon hits him with a trash can lid, sunset flip powerbomb attempt… HIS KNEE GIVES OUT!

The table collapses under Dion’s weight but Shugars sets it back up and sets him atop it. Hobbling around the ring, he grabs a trash can and puts it on Lennox’s head and superkicks him hard enough to break the table! Adjusting his approach, Shugars goes up top, referee Derek Sanders checks on Dion… DIVING CROSSBODY OFF THE TOP OF THE CAGE AND IT IS OVER!

Saquon Shugars wins by pinfall with a diving crossbody off the top of the cage.

Nattie Neidhart is shown walking backstage and then we cut to see Jaida Parker walking with Thea Hail.

Parker gives Hail an “I got it from here” pat on the shoulder and Thea seamlessly splits off to cheer her on as she continues alone and we go to break.

Back from commercial, Tony D’Angelo is interviewed backstage.

He says it’s been big PLE after PLE for Tony D and he thinks his competitors have forgotten who they’re stepping in the ring with, the only grand slam champion in NXT history. They see him as a stepping stone but he’s the guy who put Oba Femi down first before he went to the main roster and became the Ruler.

He talks about his opponents and what they’ve passed over to be here and challenge him for the title and he’ll beat the three of them to keep it.

We get a video package of Sarah Schreiber going to the bowling alley to hang out with Vanity Project and interview them. They speculate on how Myles Borne and Tavion Heights aren’t even real friends but they compete to make each other better no matter where they are. Myka Lockwood tells Jackson Drake she’ll show him how to get all ten pins and he calls her mama before she goes ahead and bowls a strike.

Swipe Right talk about coming up on the indies and standing with each other and being friends. Brad Baylor is busy chatting a girl up and Myka has to call him over to take his turn and everybody agrees that he’s Like This. Ricky Smokes uses a little slide for his ball which I didn’t know you could do but it’s adorable.

They agree nobody’s trying them with Myka Lockmama with them and they’re gonna win all their matches.

Nattie Neidhart is in the ring mic in hand.

She says Jaida Parker has all the potential in the world but she got soft and comfortable and Neidhart fixed that and made her start thinking smarter. She gave Jaida the most valuable asset in all of wrestling, her attention, and she is a possibility that Nattie turned into a reality and she’s welcome.

Enter Jaida Parker.

She says since Neidhart came to NXT she’s been trying to prove to everyone that Parker is who she says she is, soft and doesn’t belong here, but yeah she did question herself and she took a lot of losses but Nattie isn’t special. She sees straight through her and yeah she has records and a legacy, but we all know this isn’t out of the goodness of her heart.

Neidhart saw a woman on the come-up and tried to break her, but all she did is remind Jaida who she is. She doesn’t need Nattie to tell her who she is, and if anything she should be thanking her because when she wanted to be in the discussion again, she picked the right person, you’re welcome.

Nattie does a weird little dance and says that’s the Jaida she was looking for and she doesn’t want a normal match at Heatwave, she wants a submission match, bitch. Parker accepts and says she might be a low-key legend, but she’s gonna high-key wax that ass at Heatwave, bitch.

And so we go to break.

Back from commercial, Kam Hendrix is in the ring and Keanu Carver makes his entrance to get us going.

Kam Hendrix vs. Keanu Carver

Feeling out, Carver right into a small package, Hendrix kicks out, side headlock, shot off, Kam hangs in there and reapplies the headlock, shot off, shoulder block, Keanu breaks his grip and hits a northern lights suplex and follows with a vicious crossbody block! Short-arm elbow connects, takes two tries but Hendrix drop toeholds Carver throat-first into the ropes!

Whip corner to corner to corner, rolling thunder lariat, Keanu kicks out at one! Kam grinding in a reverse chinlock, Carver fights out but the Showtime Kick cuts him off, another kickout at one! Hendrix throwing kicks, Keanu gets to his feet and throws vicious right hands! Kam slips out of a hold, chop to the back, Carver’s not having it and pops him up into a German suplex!

Another German suplex, off the ropes, criss-cross… POUNCE! Trying to drag Hendrix up in the ropes, Kam thumbs him in the eye but Mason Rook shows up to even the odds, Carver hooks him…

Keanu Carver wins by pinfall with a Perfect-Plex.

Kelani Jordan gets a hype reel where she talks about her success as a crossover athlete who didn’t need the indies, Evolve, AAA, a famous last name, or a group to make her relevant. She talks about the titles she’s won and says you might as well call her One-Shot Lani because she’s gonna beat Kendal Grey in her first shot at the NXT Women’s Championship.

And so we go to break.

Back from commercial, Zilla Fatu sends in a video promo about how he’s gone from #1 free agent to #1 contender to the NXT Men’s Championship.

He talks about the chain he wears around his neck, a gift from his father Umaga and a part of him he carries with him every day. He’s not a nepo baby, he’s a grown ass man who paid his own way, and yeah he gets excited when he talks, but he gets excited when he fights and it’s all part of the Zilla Fatu Show.

Kali Armstrong vs. Zaria

If Kali Armstrong wins, she gets added to the WWE Speed Women’s Championship / NXT Women’s North American Championship unification match at Heatwave.

A shoving match early, Armstrong grabs a side headlock, staying on Zaria, shot off, shoulder block, returned in kind, back and forth a few times and she bowls Kali over and bodyslams her! Test of strength, Zaria bends her back to the mat, Armstrong kips up but gets sent into the corner! Punches into a kick, hooking Kali, big tossing suplex connects!

Zaria with a corner body avalanche, whip across, back body drop connects! Up and over, turning jabs from Armstrong, sending Zaria to the floor with a lariat, jump up, diving crossbody to the floor and we go to break!

Back from commercial, Kali hits a superplex and both women are down and out! Armstrong with a nearfall, Zaria comes back with some strikes, big pump kick… NO DEAL! Rebounding Kali off the ropes, German suplex, charge in, Armstrong leapfrogs her and bodyslams her! Fired up, off the ropes, head of steam… ZARIA COUNTERS HER WITH A SPEAR!

F-5 countered into a victory roll… IT’S OVER! KALI’S IN THE MATCH!

Kali Armstrong wins by pinfall with a victory roll pin, adding herself to the unification match at Heatwave.

Backstage, Kendal Grey escorts a racing driver named William Sawalich (they put up a chyron with his name on it, amazing!) to see a backstage doctor.

He warns her about taking risks with her injured ear but tells her she’s cleared.

Wren Sinclair rolls up to be anxious about her match and about Kendal’s promo but Sawalich tells them to take a deep breath with him and calm down. They want to keep him around and he’s on the same wavelength with their secret WrenQCC handshake to book.

Birth Right make their entrance ahead of our next match and send us to break.

Back from commercial, Dorian Van Dux and Sean Legacy are already at ringside and Noam Dar and Romeo Moreno make their entrance to get us going.

Birth Right (Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo, Charlie Dempsey, Lexis King, & Uriah Connors) vs. Dorian Van Dux, Noam Dar, Romeo Moreno, & Sean Legacy

Dempsey and Dar to start, a bit of grappling, stalemate, Noam lands a flash kick, whip to the corner, up and over, backslide, Charlie rolls through, backslide of his own, Dar counters with another cover, no fall. Side headlock, shot off, Moreno blind tag, Dar kicks Dempsey’s leg out from under him!

Romeo gets his licks in, tag to Van Dux, scoop, Charlie slips out, tag to King, double-team Dorian! Trading elbows, big overhand chop from Lexis, whip reversed, arm drag into an armbar and DVD has his knee on King’s neck! Tag to Legacy, double whip, Dorian using his partner as a weapon, slamming him into a freshly-legal Lorenzo, cover for two!

Stacks with right hands, Sean rolls under, blind tag to Connors, he clobbers Legacy, who slips away and tags Moreno in. Big chops put Romeo into agony, he ducks under, punches and chops of his own, whip reversed, leapfrog, drop down, dropkick from Uriah but Moreno fakes him out into an enzuigiri, sunset flip for two and into an ankle lock!

Match breaking down, Channing runs in and Noam grabs an ankle lock on him but the heels kick babyfaces aside! Off the ropes, DVD and Legacy with stereo crossbodies and Arianna Grace blocks them from diving! Double dropkick from Moreno on Dempsey and King, Connors pulls him out of the ring and lays him out with a kick and sends us to break!

Back from commercial, Connors standing tall over Moreno, disdainful kicks, Romeo rushes in as we see Grayson Waller walking through the parking lot wearing a “Nepo Uce” sweatshirt. Moreno desperately hanging in there, getting worked over by Birth Right, up and over, roll through, tag to Van Dux! Battering ram elbow, big back body drop, enzuigiri, snap off a Frankensteiner, low bridge sends Charlie and Lexis to the floor!

Stacks meets him with a pump kick, Dorian counters… BLUE THUNDER DRIVER OVER THE ROPES AND TO THE FLOOR! Off the ropes, huge dive from DVD! Up top, frog splash, Legacy legal, 450 splash… KING BREAKS IT UP! Tags made, Dar and Dempsey legal, trading elbows, kicks from Noam, German suplex tossed into a cross armbar and he breaks Charlie’s grip… URIAH BREAKS IT UP WITH A SENTON ATOMICO!

Sean with a Spanish Fly, springboard elbow from Lorenzo, tossing slam from Van Dux, blockbuster from Lexis, dropkick from Romeo, fired up, off the ropes… BRILLO MORENO! Dorian slingshots Legacy for his huge plancha! Dar with a nearfall, Charlie elbows him, hooks him…

Birth Right win by pinfall with a Regalplex from Charlie Dempsey on Noam Dar.

General manager Robert Stone tells referee Victoria D’Errico he needs her and her team on-guard tonight.

Keanu Carver rolls up and Stone asks what the deal with Mason Rook interfering was but Carver insists the referee’s decision is final.

Shiloh Hill rolls up wanting a match against Naraku, explaining the chemical composition of the red mist as a reason why he’s good to go, and Stone gives it to him for next week.

We see the competitors for our next match walking backstage and we go to break.

Back from commercial, EK Prosper makes his entrance and then Rey Fenix makes his to get our next match going.

EK Prosper vs. Rey Fenix (c) (AAA Cruiserweight Championship)

Fenix with a waistlock, standing switch, leg pick, shot off, schoolboy from Prosper, off the ropes, dropkick, trading nearfalls, EK with a front kick, flip over, thinking backslide, Gory Special countered into an arm drag, Prosper lands on his feet! Duck under, knucklelock, Arabian Press arm drag, Rey clocks him with a big overhand chop!

Up top, lucha arm drag connects, rolling solebutt, Prosper sends him to the apron, dropkick sends the champion to the floor! Asai moonsault wipes Fenix out, EK is fired up and we go to break!

Back from commercial, both men running on fumes, staggering to the middle of the ring, desperation overhand chops, elbows, kick combo from Fenix, big crescent kick ends the exchange, drawing Prosper up, underhooks, facebuster counters the Tiger Driver! EK out to the apron, springboard leg drop… NO DEAL! Michinoku Driver gets Prosper another nearfall!

Fenix up top… GOODBYE AMIGO SETS UP A DIVING CROSSBODY BUT EK PROSPER ISN’T DONE YET! Frog splash connects… STILL NO! EK counters an Ace Crusher with a German suplex, Fenix with a handspring Ace Crusher and both men are down and out! Looking for the Mexican Muscle Buster, Prosper fends him off and Rey nails him with an enzuigiri that sends him to the apron!

Up top, jockeying for position, EK springboards up… AVALANCHE FRANKENSTEINER! Big moonsault… FENIX ROLLS AWAY! Charging knee in the corner, setting Prosper up top again, superkick, hooking him…

Rey Fenix wins by pinfall with the Mexican Muscle Buster, retaining the AAA Cruiserweight Championship.

Myles Borne and Tavion Heights are in the locker room with another racing driver, Sam Mayer.

Heights talks about the match order, Borne says it doesn’t matter, they’ve got two matches and that means two Ws. Tavion says he doesn’t know what he’ll do if he loses the title and Myles says you can’t let the “what if” control you.

Hank and Tank roll up to congratulate the double champs and meet Mayer and they say the boys are back in town so how ‘bout a tag title match. Heights says they’re focused on Heatwave but they’ll see them around, wink wink.

Kendal Grey and Wren Sinclair are shown walking backstage to send us to break.

Back from commercial, commentary hypes up the card for NXT Heatwave.

Kendal Grey makes her entance, joined by Wren Sinclair as usual.

Grey gets on the mic and says she’s gonna get straight to the point– Kelani Jordan is right, she IS that good. But she’s always complaining and making excuses, and she’s not the only one who picks stuff up fast. Last year she was on Evolve, barely on NXT, and nobody knew who she was, but now she’s standing here as your NXT Women’s Champion.

So if Kelani wants to call herself the standout, go ahead, but when it comes to this division, Kendal is the benchmark. She didn’t have to have her first defense against a future Hall of Famer but she did, she didn’t have to fight Lola Vice in the underground, but she did, and she could have taking time off with her injury and gone a hundred days without defending the title like some champions in WWE, but she didn’t, and the bullseye is on her back.

Enter Kelani Jordan.

She tells Kendal to use her good ear because she put that target on her back and good thing it’s so big because at Heatwave it’s only gonna take her one shot. Keep calling yourself the benchmark, because Sunday the standout is gonna take her title and put her back on the bench. Grey says no, they’re gonna be in her home state and that calls for a Texas-sized WrenQCC Championship Celebration.

Enter Zaria.

Zaria calls her delusional and says she doesn’t care how many friends or family she brings to witness her at Heatwave, she’ll leave Wren laying again and erase every bad memory the Speed Championship has left her with.

Enter Kali Armstrong.

She says last time she checked she already beat both these delusional heifers and she did it back to back, so she’s gonna win both titles and fast.

Enter Grayson Waller, for some reason.

He says the girls used to be the highlight of the show until he came back, and he is NXT. Sunday night at NXT, the girls are gonna do so well, but the world won’t be talking about them or the lucha losers from AAA and their little stunt show, the world is gonna talk about Grayson conquering his demons and becoming NXT Champion.

Enter Tony D’Angelo.

He says he doesn’t give a damn if this is Grayson Waller 2.0, 3.0, 4.0, 5.0, because he’s gonna do the same thing he always does– be a disappointment.

Enter Cruz Montana, through the crowd as usual.

He greets NXT and asks what’s good. (The fact that this show can’t have an overrun?) He says he heard NXT was dysfunctional and now that he’s in the thick of it he knows it’s true, but he kinda likes it! The difference between him and everybody else is they all came here to talk and he came here to throw hands– MONTANA LAYS A PAIR OF SECURITY GUARDS OUT AND WE GET A GENERAL BRAWL!

Zaria hits an F-5 on Kali Armstrong, Kendal with a back elbow on Kelani Jordan, Zilla Fatu hits the ring and wipes the men out on the floor with a splash off the top before grabbing the title and climbing the turnbuckles to pose with it!

WrenQCC pose with their titles in the ring.

That’s the show, folks.
