“Darkness has always protected us.” 🩸 But will it save them in our climate ravaged future? Hulu revealed an official trailer for a German sci-fi horror mini-series titled City of Blood, set for streaming worldwide starting in September. This series is set in the city of Berlin, featuring vampires and a climate-controlled dome. It’s based on the German graphic novel titled “Berlinoir” set in the near future. Berlin: a city-state on the brink. While a privileged few live beneath a climate-controlled dome, those outside struggle to survive in a world ravaged by heat, corruption, and crime. After years apart, sisters Bea and Phoebe are reunited and uncover a dark secret: Vampires are determined to seize political power — and blood has become the city’s new currency. Caught between rival forces, Bea and Phoebe must confront the ultimate question: Who poses the greater threat — humans or vampires? Starring Lea Drinda, Soma Pysall, Franz Hartwig, Jördis Triebel, David Schütter, Mouataz Alshaltouh, Jenny Schily, Dagmar Manzel, Melika Foroutan, Jan Georg Schütte, and Lars Eidinger. This looks like a very strange mish-mash of ideas crammed into one weird series. Vampires and a rich person dome and political turmoil? Sure, let’s see where all this goes.
