Next Major PS5 Exclusive Is Ready to Release, Wolverine Goes Gold

Insomniac has announced its fourth PS5 game, Marvel’s Wolverine, has gone gold ahead of release on 15th September 2026. It shared the news with a quick social media video featuring Logan with gold claws, and it’s confirmed you can unlock them in the game.

The phrase “going gold” means work on the 1.0 version of the game is now complete and can be pressed to PS5 discs. It’s been confirmed the full 1.0 version of Marvel’s Wolverine will be on the disc itself, but there shall be a day one patch via digital download on top.

Marvel’s Wolverine represents the next big single player PS5 exclusive from PlayStation, with God of War Laufey and Intergalactic still to come. The latest superhero title from Insomniac represents a break from the open world of Marvel’s Spider-Man, as Logan’s journey is a linear one with a focus on gory action.

I played over two hours of the game at the start of this week at PlayStation HQ in London and found it to be a fantastic cinematic experience with a lot of satisfying and bloody fights. “Marvel’s Wolverine is shaping up to be another fantastic addition to Sony’s prestige first-party lineup; it offers all of the high-quality gameplay, design, visuals, and fun factor you’d want from an Insomniac Games joint.”
