Carlos Alcaraz will make his comeback from a wrist injury at the US Open as he seeks to defend his title at Flushing Meadows.

The news was broken by Alcaraz on social media in collaboration with Fabrizio Romano, the football transfer influencer.

Alcaraz and Romano posted the news on Instagram, while Alcaraz also posted Romano’s ‘here we go’ catchphrase on X.

Alcaraz has not played competitively since April, when he withdrew from the Barcelona Open.

The Spaniard remains at No 2 in the world rankings despite being unable to defend his French Open title or take part in Wimbledon this summer.

Alcaraz was due to return at the Cincinnati Open this month but was forced to withdraw.

However, he is now set to feature at the US Open, live on Sky Sports, which starts on August 30.
