Don’t panic
IO interactive and Amazon MGM Studios have announced that 007 First Light has now sold over 4 million copies since launching 3 months ago on 27th May 2026.
A fine achievement, indeed, and a strong indication that we can probably expect to see more Bond action from the Hitman team in the future. In the meantime, the upcoming Switch 2 release is apparently still happening, so don’t worry.
However, while IO Interactive previously stated a planned release in Summer, it’s now said to “come later in 2026”. So the messaging has gotten slightly more vague, meaning it could arrive as late as December. Imagine if it launches on GTA 6 day – what a laugh.
Still, it’s coming, and that’s the main thing. And kudos to IO Interactive on surpassing 4 million copies.
