Following the recent launch of the Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass on Switch 2, Nintendo’s Korean branch has this week announced a packaged “download” version.

It will be arriving on 10th September 2026, with pre-orders now available on the local Nintendo Store. According to the translation of the official announcement, this is a physical Switch 2 game case for the Expansion Pass including a download code.

“This package does not contain a game card; it contains a software download code. Please register the provided download code on the Nintendo eShop on your Nintendo Switch 2 console.”

Right now, there’s no mention of this Expansion Pass ‘code-in-a-box’ release being made available outside of this location. It’s also noted in the announcement how users must have the base game software to access and play this additional content.

The Expansion Pass DLC began with ‘Bubbly Basin‘ earlier this month alongside the release of the free software update, Version 2.0.0. It will be followed by the second DLC later this year, and a third part will arrive in 2027.

When Pokémon Pokopia launched earlier this year, it was made available as a Game-Key Card release.
