Jon Moxley defeated Jay White in the second round of the Continental Cup on tonight’s (Aug. 19) episode of Dynamite. A ton of chaos unrelated to the tournament broke out after the match ended.
As Moxley took his leave from the ring, The Dogs attacked White from behind. The Conglomeration ran in for the save, only for Gabe Kidd to make a surprise appearance and give the heels the numbers advantage. Kidd, who considers himself to be part of The Dogs and the Death Riders, is finally back in AEW after finishing up with the G1 tournament.
AEW World Trios Champions Hangman Page and Brodido then hit the ring to make a bold challenge for All In London at on Aug. 30. Hangman challenged “anyone” who wants a shot at the gold to come meet them in the ring at Wembley Stadium.
The commentators indicated there will be no shortage of opponents for Hangman’s team to fight at All In while running down a list of all the trios in the AEW locker room like The Conglomeration, Bang Bang Gang, The Demand, Lethal Twist, and so forth.
However, the way Hangman issued the challenge also opens the door for some mystery teams to show up. Could this be how New Day makes their AEW debut? That’s the question that immediately crossed my mind after listening to Swerve Strickland’s intriguing response to Hangman’s open challenge.
Do you think a big surprise is in store for AEW fans when Hangman and Brodido defend the world trios titles against anyone and everyone at All In London? Let me know your thoughts on this angle in the comments below, Cagesiders.
