Macquarie Capital Principal Finance is the global balance sheet investing arm of Macquarie Capital, with a current portfolio of $20 billion+ across private credit, private equity, and real estate strategies. This New York City-based role, part of a broader global real estate business with offices in London and Sydney, is dedicated to the US Real Estate Principal Finance team which invests across a variety of structures and asset classes in US markets. Operating under a flexible investment mandate, the business invests in senior debt, subordinate debt, preferred equity, and select JV equity opportunities, with the ability to pivot as market conditions evolve. Since its inception in 2009, the Real Estate Principal Finance business has invested over $14 billion globally with investments spanning all parts of the capital structure and across various property types.

What role will you play?
As an Analyst on the US Real Estate Principal Finance team, you will be responsible for screening investment opportunities, underwriting and preparing detailed financial analyses, evaluating market data, and distilling information into investment memoranda. In addition, you will be responsible for portfolio asset management, including preparation of internal reporting and influencing business plan decisions for the equity portfolio. The team is a small, nimble group, providing the opportunity to work directly with senior-level members on a variety of transactions.
What you offer
- 1+ years of relevant experience, including real estate, finance, investment banking or asset management
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint (Argus is a plus)
- Proficiency in / willingness to adopt AI tools
- Strong interest in the real estate debt and private equity industry
- Proficiency in financial modeling
- Conceptual, technical, and analytical skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A proactive self-starter mindset with an ability to manage competing workstreams / deliverables in a fast-paced environment
Salary range for this position: $110,000 – $150,000/Year. Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, peer and market data, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. You may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive compensation award.
