Suns Announce NBA Cup Schedule, Includes Kevin Durant

PHOENIX — The Phoenix Suns, ahead of the NBA’s full reveal of their 2026-27 schedule, have revealed their schedule for the NBA Cup.

The Suns, in Group A, play four games with matchups from Oct. 30 to Nov. 27 — two at home and two on the road.

Suns’ 2026-27 NBA Cup Schedule

  • Friday, Oct. 30: HOME vs Denver Nuggets
  • Friday, Nov. 20: AT Utah Jazz
  • Wed, Nov. 25: AT Houston Rockets
  • Friday, Nov. 27: HOME vs Dallas Mavericks

The Suns’ group schedule offers a slew of big names, none bigger than Kevin Durant — who previously played for Phoenix before being traded to Houston last summer.

It was a trade that was unfortunate but needed, as Durant clearly wasn’t the player the Suns traded for and Phoenix wasn’t actually as close to contending as Durant would have preferred.

In the trade with Houston, the Suns got back the No. 10 pick (used to draft Khaman Maluach), Dillon Brooks and Jalen Green — two players who helped Phoenix make a surprise run to the postseason.

Durant, to no surprise, was vocal about his exit from the Suns. However, Phoenix was insistent it was time to move on from the superstar forward.

There’s plenty of other exciting names on the schedule, as superstar and multi-time MVP Nikola Jokic will travel to Mortgage Matchup Center during group play while the Suns will also see young talents such as Cooper Flagg (Dallas) and Darryn Peterson (Utah).

More From the Suns on How NBA Cup Works

“Eight teams will advance to the Knockout Rounds of the Emirates NBA Cup 2026, the team with the best standing in Group Play games in each of the six groups and one wild card team from each conference. The wild card will be the team from each conference with the best record in Group Play games that finished second in its group.

“The Quarterfinals (Friday, Dec. 4 and Saturday, Dec. 5) and Semifinals (Tuesday, Dec. 8 and/or Wednesday, Dec. 9) will take place in NBA team markets before the tournament concludes with the Championship on Friday, December 11 at Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.

“On days during the Knockout Rounds when Emirates NBA Cup games are not scheduled (Dec. 6-7 and Dec. 10), the 22 teams that do not qualify for the Knockout Rounds will each play two regular-season games. The losing teams from the Quarterfinals in each conference will play each other in a regular-season game on Dec. 10.”

The Suns have never won the NBA Cup and have only gotten as far as the quarterfinals.
