Funny Final US Trailer for Chinese ‘Tom & Jerry: Forbidden Compass’​

“Yikes! My grandma’s done more to save the world than you two.” Viva Kids Films has debuted one final official US trailer for the animated movie Tom & Jerry: Forbidden Compass, ready for a US release in theaters September right when school begins again. After first opening in China last year, it’s finally getting released as an English language version at every other country around the world. This is actually a Chinese production – despite it being the classic Tom & Jerry characters – it’s an animated movie made in China for Asian audiences. The beloved cat & mouse duo Tom & Jerry accidentally travel through time after activating a magical compass. Along the way, the duo meets curious allies and faces mysterious forces in an adventure packed with chaos and discovery. Originally made by Warner Bros Animation for China, being released by Viva in the US. The English language voice cast includes Eric Bauza as Tom Cat and Ben Diskin as Jerry Mouse, plus Andrew Kishino & Kyle McCarley. This movie does look like it will end up being a fun time.

During a chase in a museum, Tom & Jerry accidentally activate a magical compass that transports them to another world. On their journey home, they meet a group of new companions and become embroiled in a conflict against mysterious forces in this playful adventure packed with chaos and discovery. Tom and Jerry: Forbidden Compass, also known as 猫和老鼠：星盘奇缘 in Mandarin, is written and directed by Chinese animation filmmaker Gang Zhang, making his feature directorial debut with this movie. Produced by China Film Co., Ltd along with Warner Bros Animation. This initially premiered at the 2025 Shanghai Film Festival last year and it opened in China last August. Viva Pictures debuts Tom & Jerry: Forbidden Compass in US theaters starting September 4th, 2026. It also opens in Australia starting in August. Fun?
