“They become unlikely partners and there’s a level of respect that could almost be defined as a friendship.” Paramount Pictures has revealed a new behind-the-scenes first look featurette for the movie titled By Any Means, a gritty crime thriller set back in the 1960s. Arriving in theaters starting in September – you can catch the official trailer here. It’s the latest film from acclaimed filmmaker Elegance Bratton, also of the films Buck & The Inspection previously. “When the system is broken, break the rules by any means.” A mafia hitman and a young Black FBI agent team up to investigate the murders of many civil rights leaders in 1966 Mississippi. When the system is broken, two men divided by everything agree on one thing: the law has limits. They don’t. What a pitch! And this really happened! I’m all for this. Starring Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as the FBI agent & Mark Wahlberg as the mafioso, along with Nicole Beharie, Josh Lucas, LisaGay Hamilton, LaChanze, Ethan Embry, David Strathairn & Giancarlo Esposito. The trailer was good already; I’m quite happy to see more footage from this as they head towards the release date. Who’s down?
