Step Into Orïsha in ‘Children of Blood and Bone’ First Look Featurette​

“I wanted the whole diaspora to be a part of this.” Paramount Pictures has revealed a first look behind-the-scenes featurette for the movie Children of Blood and Bone, a vivid cinematic adaptation of the book series of the same name. A woman blessed with magical powers by the gods is living in a place where she is forbidden to use them, so she teams up with a princess to summon the gods and bring down the oppressive regime. Directed by filmmaker Gina Prince-Bythewood, this epic African fantasy action thriller movie is set to hit theaters in January 2027. In the world of Orïsha, a young woman goes on a quest to reclaim the magic that was violently stolen from her people. She and her brother ally with the daughter and son of the king to fight back against his brutal rule. The cast features Thuso Mbedu as Zélie Adebola, Damson Idris as Prince Inan, Amandla Stenberg, Tosin Cole, Cynthia Erivo, Lashana Lynch, Zackary Momoh, Richard Mofe-Damijo, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Regina King, with Idris Elba and Viola Davis. Featuring cinematography by DP Polly Morgan, production design by Hannah Beachler, hair by Andrea Mona Bowman, costumes by Charlese Antoinette Jones.
