“I just wanna help these kids find their voices!” Brainstorm Media & Reboot are releasing this indie comedy in theaters this summer – coming up soon in July if anyone wants to watch it. The Floaters is a summer camp comedy directed by Rachel Israel, ready for release soon after premiering at film festivals last year. A struggling musician takes a last-resort job from her overachiever best friend: supervising misfits at their childhood Jewish summer camp. With the camp’s survival in the balance as it ramps up for a competition with a longtime rival, the clashing friends and campers must overcome their differences to save the camp. Framed through multi-generational perspectives, this offbeat comedy captures the rich diversity of a Jewish summer camp and explores the conflict between leaving one’s mark & building connection. Starring Jackie Tohn as Nomi, Sarah Podemski as Mara, Aya Cash, Juda Lewis, Nina Bloomgarden, Jake Ryan, Seth Green, Jonathan Silverman, Steve Guttenberg, Jacob Moskovitz. Camp is in session on July 10th. This looks like it has a few good laughs along with all the cringy, awkward camp moments inbetween.

Freshly ousted from her rock band, Nomi (Jackie Tohn) takes a last-resort job from her best friend Mara (Sarah Podemski) at their childhood Jewish summer camp. As camp director Mara contends with a busted septic system, she tasks Nomi to supervise a group of outsider teens called the floaters.
