WWE NXT’s Great American Bash premium live event is happening tonight (Sun., June 28, 2026) at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando. While there will be a “Countdown” pre-show, the premium live event itself begins at 7 p.m. ET — airing for free on The CW in the United States, and on Netflix pretty much everywhere else.
The show will feature all four of NXT’s top singles championships on the line in both its men’s and women’s divisions, as well as three other matches… and probably a surprise or two as WWE’s developmental brand is going head-to-head with its old Wednesday Night War rival this evening.
It can be a lot to keep up with, even if you watch every week. Luckily for you Cagesiders, our staff of learned wrestling blowhards is here to help figure out just how the event is going to play out with predictions for each match on the card. Josh will be along in a bit with a preview, too.
Let’s get it started.
WWE NXT GREAT AMERICAN BASH PREDICTIONS
Men’s NXT championship: Tony D’Angelo (c) vs. Naraku
Geno Mrosko: I don’t really think it’s a great idea to job Naraku out to Tony D here after how they built this thing up but I also don’t know that it does D’Angelo any favors to lose the title here. I’m not sure what the right call is but I would probably lean toward pushing the newer — for this promotion, at least — talent. Pick: Naraku
Sean Rueter: There are enough ways to schmoz this up so that a loss doesn’t hurt the former EVIL, and I doubt this is the only time Naraku challenges The Don for the strap… in one-on-one or multi-man environments. Pick: Tony D’Angelo
Claire Elizabeth: The erstwhile Don of NXT has an uphill battle here, having been viciously burned by Naraku’s EVIL ways so bad that Robert Stone sure thought he’d need a new main event until Tony came storming in all Spirit of ‘76 on Tuesday night. But that’s as far as I think the champ is going, because yeah, EVIL doesn’t have his House of Torture, he doesn’t have any allies, but he does have his smarts and his ruthlessness and that thing where he horsecollars a guy with a steel chair and rams them into to the ringpost, and I think that’s gonna be enough. Pick: Naraku
M. G0MEZ: Burning Tony D’Angelo’s face days before a big title defense is the out he needs to drop the strap. As champion, he doesn’t have a list of credible challengers to run through. Losing under questionable circumstances keeps him in the picture without having to hold the title. It also establishes Naraku, who, at 39, may find that NXT is his ceiling and will need something to keep him credible for the long road ahead. Pick: Naraku
Josh Jagler: The way NXT ended this week has opened the door for Naraku to win while keeping Tony D looking strong. Actually, on the flip side, if Naraku loses, I think his credibility takes a hit. To me, the best play here is for Naraku to win and let Tony D chase again. Pick: Naraku
Women’s NXT championship: Lola Vice (c) vs. Kendal Grey
Geno Mrosko: Grey is the future, there’s no question about that, but I don’t think the future is now just yet. Pick: Lola Vice
Sean Rueter: Would it be hyperbole for me to compare Grey’s momentum to Oba Femi’s? Absolutely. Am I gonna do it anyway? Yep. Vice is one of two women on this card who should be moving on up (or maybe to Mexico) soon. Pick: Kendal Grey
Claire Elizabeth: Stepping outside of the facts on the ground, NXT’s prediliction for long NXT Women’s Championship reigns speaks well to the quality of their champions, but for me as a viewer, I could use things to get shaken up a little bit more often. So that, and the fact that I dig what Kendal brings to the table, is the energy I’m bringing to this pick. Let’s see that title move around a little bit! Pick: Kendal Grey
M. G0MEZ: Kendal Grey reminds me of Kurt Angle in how quickly she’s picked up the business. She’s ready to be the champion now. But then what does management do with Lola Vice? Send her to the main roster, which is overflowing with riches? A full-time run in AAA? Without something concrete, a loss for Vice hurts more than an L for Grey. Pick: Lola Vice
Josh Jagler: I’m as high on Kendal Grey as anybody. All the praise she’s received on this site and elsewhere on the wrestle-web is completely warranted. I don’t think they’re ready to end Lola’s title reign yet. She’s proven to have a ton of value crossing over into AAA, and keeping NXT gold on her for at least a little while longer is the correct play here. Kendal’s time is definitely coming, but I don’t think it starts this weekend. Pick: Lola Vice
Men’s North American championship: Myles Borne (c) vs. Tavion Heights
Geno Mrosko: Tavion is trying to take his career to new, ahem, heights and while Borne is a great story, there might be an even greater one to tell. Pick: Tavion Heights
Sean Rueter: Heights’ heel turn is upon us, but not until he comes up short against his old NQCC mate. Pick: Myles Borne
Claire Elizabeth: I like both guys a lot, especially grading on the NXT curve, but the fact of the matter is Tavion is just hungrier and more willing to cross lines to get what he wants. Borne is justifiably proud of the killer instinct he picked up feuding with Ethan Page, but I don’t think it’s gonna be enough. Pick: Tavion Heights
M. G0MEZ: WWE sent Tavion Heights to Japan two years ago, a sign that management sees something in him. What he needs is character development, and a full-blown heel turn might help with that. Pick: Tavion Heights
Josh Jagler: This is an interesting matchup that I can see going either way. During the NXT video package this week, I got some ZaRuca vibes listening to Myles and Tavion talk about their history. Tavion’s conversation with Wren Sinclair was also interesting to me. They could go full heel-turn with Heights here and have him cheat to win the title, but I think it’s more likely that Borne retains and Tavion continues to come to grips with the rest of the NQCC being in a better place than he is. Pick: Myles Borne
Women’s North American championship: Zaria (c) vs. Tatum Paxley
Geno Mrosko: Paxley is a beloved character the fans are never going to turn on again. That unfortunately means she can lose match after match after match and be just fine. So she’s going to put the heel over here, and that’ll just have to be that. Pick: Zaria
Sean Rueter: They’re not flipping the belt back, especially considering the current champ’s rise. And T-Pax is ready for a bigger stage. Pick: Zaria
Claire Elizabeth: As much as I like Tatum and she is absolutely one of the bright spots in NXT for me right now, Zaria is, between her formidable physicality and her bull-headed mentality forged in Sol Ruca’s shadow, just a mountain too high for her to climb, I fear. Pick: Zaria
M. G0MEZ: Momentum is on Zaria’s side. She sent Sol Ruca packing, then won the Women’s N.A. Championship in dominant fashion. Losing the title less than three weeks after winning it would kill her character flat, and I just don’t see that happening. Pick: Zaria
Josh Jagler: Tatum Paxley has become someone whose popularity doesn’t take a hit when she loses. They have been building Zaria up for this moment for months, and I just don’t see a reason to hot potato the title off of her. The intrigue for me lies with whether Tatum is heading up to the main roster (maybe to join Lyra?), and who is next to step up to Zaria. Pick: Zaria
Women’s Speed championship: Wren Sinclair (c) vs. Arianna Grace
Geno Mrosko: I cannot believe they’re still doing the Speed championship stuff. It’s so far beyond a waste of everyone’s time. Pick: Wren Sinclair
Sean Rueter: No disrespect to the woman who gives us the first part of WrenQCC’s name, but at least this belt will be fun with Birthright’s first and only lady. Pick: Arianna Grace
Claire Elizabeth: I think it’d be best for everybody and everything if Wren retained in about thirty seconds and then we quietly left the Speed titles in the back from now on. Pick: Wren Sinclair
M. G0MEZ: BirthRight possesses the Men’s Speed Championship. This seems like a no-brainer. Pick: Arianna Grace
Josh Jagler: I feel like we’re due for a title change here. The Wren/Kendal story has been simmering on the back burner, and I think it’s time for the next chapter to be written there. Sinclair and Grey talked about how great it would be for both of them to be champions after Bash, but I think their story becomes way more interesting if neither of them leaves with gold. Pick: Arianna Grace
Dion Lennox vs. Saquon Shugars
Geno Mrosko: The entire DarkState experiment feels like a bust. Just me? I like the idea of Saquon just running through them and giving the entire group an identity crisis right up to their disbanding. Pick: Saquon Shugars
Sean Rueter: This isn’t a vote for more DarkState, but I’m not sure most (or maybe all) of these guys wouldn’t be lost in the shuffle right now without this storyline. Pick: Dion Lennox
Claire Elizabeth: I was dubious when DarkState just went ahead and said they kicked Saquon out because he was an indie wrestler and they’re all sports guys, but Shugars has brought it in all of their interactions after that and I see no reason to believe Great American Bash will be anything but his lucky day. Pick: Saquon Shugars
M. G0MEZ: I was never a fan of Shield-lite. Now that we’re so close to finally ending it, it’s best to move on and start fresh with everyone involved. Pick: Saquon Shugars
Josh Jagler: Saquon has been blowing through DarkState way too easily these last few weeks. I think he needs to go over and win this feud eventually, but I think it’s going to take him through the summer to do so. Betting on either Cutler James or Osiris the Virus returning to help Dion win here. Pick: Dion Lennox
Shiloh Hill vs. Tristan Angels
Geno Mrosko: I just can’t handle the bad fake laugh. Hill seems like the guy they may want to push more even if Angels has more raw potential. Pick: Shiloh Hill
Sean Rueter: The weird dude got vulnerable to win Mr. NXT, y’all. If he loses, I’m calling Kit Wilson on Chef Shawn. Pick: Shiloh Hill
Claire Elizabeth: Exellent Weirdo Shiloh Hill all the way baby. Pick: Excellent Weirdo Shiloh Hill
M. G0MEZ: Sometimes, the best birthday presents come late. Tristan Angels lost the Mr. NXT Pageant on his special day, thanks to a corrupt voting system. Thankfully, there’s no way to rig the results inside the squared circle. Happy belated, TA. Pick: Tristan Angels
Josh Jagler: Not much to say about this one. Tristan has a bright future, but Shiloh should win here. Pick: Shiloh Hill
