French Feel-Good Musical Comedy ‘The Marching Band’ US Trailer

The Marching Band Trailer

“Run a school? A dunce like me?” Greenwich Entertainment debuted an official US trailer for the acclaimed French comedy film titled The Marching Band in English, also called En Fanfare in French, releasing in US theaters later this summer. It first premiered at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival a few years ago, finally getting a US theater run after a bit of a wait. This feel-good story about two estranged brothers reconnecting over music. Acclaimed conductor Thibaut has leukemia and needs a bone marrow donor. Learning he was adopted, he finds an older brother – a trombone musician and factory worker in a small town. Their reunion sparks a fraternal, musical journey amidst the town’s factory closure. The film already became a huge hit in France back in 2024 – it earned an impressive €18 million at the French box office and was nominated for 7 César Awards in total, including Best Film & Best Actor. The Marching Band stars Benjamin Lavernhe, Pierre Lottin, Sarah Suco, and Jacques Bonnaffé. Yep, this looks like a wonderful movie with terrific performances making it a completely worthwhile watch when it finally opens in the US. Check it out below.

Thibaut is an internationally renowned conductor who travels the world. When he learns he was adopted, he discovers the existence of a younger brother, Jimmy, who works in a school cafeteria and also plays the trombone in a small marching band. Everything seems to set them apart, except for their love of music. Sensing his brother’s exceptional talent, Thibaut decides to remedy the injustice of fate. Jimmy begins to dream of a different life… The Marching Band, also know as En Fanfare in French, is directed by French actor / writer / filmmaker Emmanuel Courcol, director of the films Ceasefire and The Big Hit previously. The screenplay is written by Emmanuel Courcol & Irène Muscari; in collaboration with Oriane Bonduel & Marianne Tomersy. Produced by Marc Bordure and Robert Guédiguian. This initially premiered at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival last year in Cannes Premiere section. This opened in UK cinemas last year. Greenwich Ent releases Courcol’s The Marching Band in select US theaters starting August 21st, 2026. Looks good?
