Mistfell for it
Got a bit of a Soulslike itch? Fancy bashing your head against armour-clad enemies in a grim fantasy setting? Then you might want to check out the Mistfall Hunter open beta, which is available to download now on PS5.
In truth, this one’s totally passed me by — but I’ve seen it rack up some attention on streaming platforms like Twitch and YouTube over the last 24 hours. The consensus right now is that the game’s shaping up to be pretty solid.
There is a catch, however, and I’m sure it’ll be enough to put some of you off entirely.

Mistfall Hunter isn’t your typical gothic action RPG — it’s built around loot and extraction, meaning that you’ll need to fend off other players as well as standard enemies (and bosses) in order to claim victory.
It’s worth noting that you can squad up with friends if you want, or you can go solo. The beta supports full cross-play.
I suppose it was only a matter of time until some studio settled on the idea of combining Soulslike combat with the thrill of an extraction shooter… The full game launches next month, on the 30th July.
Still, if this sounds like it might be up your alley, you just need to go and grab the beta from the PS Store. It weighs in at just under 36GB on PS5.
