First Look Teaser for Pixar’s ‘Gatto’ Movie – A Story of Venetian Cats

Gatto Teaser

“Where is the tuna?” Pixar has revealed the first look teaser trailer for their next new movie titled Gatto, a story following cats around Venice. Pixar’s Gatto is the second feature made by Italian filmmaker Enrico Casarosa, best known for bringing us the wonderful Luca movie from Pixar a few years ago (still one of my faves). This next story is also set in Italy, but this time it’s in Venice. Indebted to a local feline mob kingpin, a black cat named Nero finds himself forced to forge an unexpected friendship that may finally lead him to his purpose. Mark Ruffalo has joined the voice cast in the lead role as the scrappy black cat named Nero, and Laurence Fishburne will voice the ruthless mob boss cat Rocco. The teaser trailer introduces Nero and Rocco as they question another cat in a funny interrogation scene. No other voices have been confirmed yet. This will hit theaters starting March 2027 early next year. And I’m already looking forward to it! As a huge fan of Casarosa’s Luca, I cannot wait to see his second Pixar film. Especially following these cute cats.

Here’s the first look teaser trailer (+ poster) for Pixar’s Gatto movie, direct from YouTube:

In Gatto, after years of maneuvering the canal-ridden, superstitious city of Venice, Italy, Nero (voiced by Mark Ruffalo) begins to question whether he’s lived the right lives. Indebted to Rocco (voiced by Laurence Fishburne), the local feline mobster boss, Nero finds himself in a quandary and is forced to forge a truly unexpected friendship that may finally lead him to his purpose—unless Venice gets the better of him first. Pixar’s Gatto movie is directed by acclaimed Italian animation filmmaker Enrico Casarosa, director of the Pixar movie Luca previously, and the La Luna short, along with story artist work on Ratatouille, Up, Cars 2, and Coco. No final writing credits are available yet. Produced by Andrea Warren. Executive produced by Pete Docter. Made by Pixar Animation Studios in Emeryville, CA. Disney will release Pixar’s Gatto movie in theaters worldwide starting March 5th, 2026 early next year. First impression? Who’s excited for this? 🐈‍⬛
