“We really need you to tell us the whole story…” Magnolia Pictures has unveiled the official trailer for the indie dark comedy I Want Your Sex, the latest one-of-a-kind creation from provocative indie mastermind Gregg Araki, his 12th feature film so far. This first premiered at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival earlier this year to mostly positive reviews, praising how kinky and weird and bold and adventurous this film is. Nothing else like it out there this year! I also highly recommend it. Set in Los Angeles, young Elliot lands a job for renowned and provocative artist Erika Tracy. His fantasies come true as Erika taps him to become her sexual muse. But things get extra weird when gets caught up in a murder plot and other strange things begin to happen to him, sending him spiraling into the adult world of sex & power. Starring Olivia Wilde & Cooper Hoffman, along with Charli XCX, Daveed Diggs, Mason Gooding, Chase Sui Wonders, Margaret Cho, and Johnny Knoxville. Described as “hilarious, tender, and nuanced in how it tackles the differences between how older and younger generations embrace their sexual desires.” This is a superb film! Smart and vivid and totally wild in the ways only Araki knows how to pull off. A must watch 2026 indie flick.
