ROH Global Wars is scheduled to have stars from ROH, CMLL, and Stardom. Athena is using that as an opportunity to demand a rematch to get her win back over a Stardom wrestler.
Ring of Honor confirmed that Athena will defend the ROH Women’s Championship against Syuri. Global Wars will be taped from Cincinnati, and the show airs on June 18, 2026.
Athena called out Syuri to handle unfinished business. Athena was chasing this match for awhile, and they clashed in the Casino Gauntlet at All In Texas last year. Unfortunately, Syuri suffered an injury. Athena eventually got what she wanted, however, Syuri took home the win to retain the IWGP Women’s Championship at a NJPW show in New Jersey back in February. Now, it is time for Athena to even the score. Athena plans to rip Syuri limb from limb.
Syuri still holds the IWGP Women’s Championship, but only the ROH title will be on the line.
