“We got invited here because Hollywood screwed us. So let’s screw it back!” Good luck. Quiver Distribution has revealed an official trailer for an indie comedy called Above the Line, a wacky comedy crime thriller mashup arriving on VOD later this month. It looks like extra goofy, weird fun but not sure it’ll be worth the VOD rental price. Here’s the setup: Six struggling Hollywood hopefuls team up for the ultimate comeback – to rob the Academy Awards statuettes from the crooked producer who crushed their dreams. But in a town built on make-believe, pulling off the perfect heist might just be the major role of their lives. Well, that’s a wild concept for a film! But this indie comedy has only played at one festival and doesn’t seem to have much real buzz. With Gregg Henry, Jackson Pace, Cedric the Entertainer, Sophia Ali, Dylan Playfair, Suzy Nakamura, Reno Wilson, Adhir Kalyan, and Jamie Lee. This looks way too messy and underlit and chaotic to actually be any good, despite an amusing premise. Get a look below if you’re curious anyway. // Continue Reading ›
