Here comes bad news about Jessica “Chubbs” Shannon‘s marriage.

The reality star—who previously appeared on Here Comes Honey Boo Boo alongside her mother, June “Mama June” Shannon, and half sister, Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson—announced she broke up with wife Shyann McCant. The pair legally wed in February 2025, according to Georgia records obtained by E! News, before filming their October nuptials for Mama June: Family Crisis.

“As most of y’all can tell, me and Shyann are no longer together. We mutually decided that it was the best decision for both of us,” Jessica, 29, updated fans in a joint Facebook post with her ex on June 2. “Yes, we are still friends, and yes, we are both cordial with each other, but we are no longer in a relationship.”

“We kindly ask that everyone be respectful during this time,” Jessica requested, explaining that “this is already a difficult situation, and mean comments or unnecessary drama won’t make it any easier.”

Following the split announcement, Jessica revealed more details about the demise of her five-year relationship with the 23-year-old, including what she feels went wrong in the relationship.

“Stuff just doesn’t work out. Stuff happens,” Jessica admitted on a later Instagram Live, as seen in footage captured by fans. “There was a lot of stuff with me that I could’ve fixed. And I take 110 percent accountability. I know what I did was wrong. And that’s why it happened.”

As such, the elementary school teacher confessed that the breakup wasn’t easy.

“There was hurt. We both cried. It was best just to talk through it,” Jessica said, conceding that “anger is part of getting over it. We both probably went through anger. We both were sad.”

But despite the emotional separation, Jessica is still on good terms with her estranged wife. In fact, she confirmed she plans to keep in touch with Shyann’s niece, Harper, whom they both took care of.

“Shyann was nothing but good to me,” Jessica affirmed. “I have nothing bad to say about her. I never have, and I told her I never will.”

While the couple has firmly called it quits, they’ve yet to move forward with the official paperwork. As Jessica put it, “We’re not just gonna wake up and say we’re automatically getting a divorce.”
