WWE NXT RESULTS AND LIVE BLOG FOR MAY 5
Look deep in the mirror, look deep into its eyes. Your face is replaced, a creature you despise, but I know what you’re made of, it ain’t much I’m afraid. I know you’ll be lying until your dying day, but me? I’m just here to liveblog this pro wrestling show, folks.
The show opens with a recap of last week’s show focused on all the new talent.
Tony D’Angelo tells a camera these guys don’t want to wait so he’s not gonna wait either, and he charges Tavion Heights, who’s eating at a table, and dives over the desk to spear him!
We get entrances for our opening match and off we go!
Jaida Parker vs. Kali Armstrong
A shoving match breaks out, Parker with waistlock takedowns, Armstrong shoots her off but Jaida catches her with an arm drag! Straight suplex, Kali reverses to a side headlock, snapmare, Parker rolls away from the elbow drop, off the ropes and she slides right into her own side headlock! Armstrong firing elbows off, Jaida sidesteps her to the floor!
Parker out with her, Kali rams her into the apron, Parker returns the favor, throws her back inside, boot from the apron, off the ropes and both women go for neckbreakers at the same time and end up down and out to send us to break.
Back from commercial, Armstrong with a springboard lariat, turning jabs, legsweep, dropping knees to Parker’s temple! Off the ropes, fist drop, shoulder blocks in the corner, disdainful slaps, right hand from Jaida but Kali rams her into the corner and puts boots to her! Parker hangs her in the corner, hits the seated senton and high steps!
Armstrong with a head of steam…
Kali Armstrong wins by pinfall with a flying shoulder block.
Tony D’Angelo goes into general manager Robert Stone’s office and Stone asks him what the hell is going on. Tony says he’s not gonna be the champion who gets blindsided, he’s the hunter, not the hunted, and he wants Tavion Heights tonight. Robert gives him the match after some initial reluctance.
We get a hype reel for Jackson Drake vs. Jasper Troy tonight and we go to break.
Back from commercial, Birth Right are complaning backstage when Fit Finlay rolls up.
He says they’re not supposed to get outmaneuvered by gamers with no pedigree and he calls up William Regal who says he’s sent Charlie Dempsey back to the Snake Pit in Wigan to train and next week they’ll have a trios match and they best make the most of it.
We get a promo video from EVIL in Japanese where he talks about his career in Japan and how his warrior soul is never satisfied. NXT is entering a new era and this is his moment to strike, and Tony D’Angelo sits at the top of NXT with the biggest prize, one that he wants. He says he didn’t give him a gift, he gave him a proclamation.
One day they will do battle for the NXT Championship, and it’s written in the rising sun.
The video package closes by telling us that Naraku debuts next week, so that’s his new name one presumes. Shame, EVIL has a certain ring to it.
Jasper Troy makes his entrance to set up our next match.
But we’re not going to break first, because Jackson Drake makes his entrance alongside Swipe Right.
Jackson Drake vs. Jasper Troy
Troy throws Drake corner-to-corner, hard left hands, shoulder blocks, Swipe Right runs interference and Jackson manages to drop Jasper with a diving Meteora to send us to break!
Back from commercial, Troy with big palm strikes, ramming Drake into the corner, backflip up and over, off the ropes, crossbody, Jasper catches him but Jackson manages to counter the Black Hole Slam! Up top, Troy recovers, chokeslam and a senton follows! Out to the floor, Jasper throws right hands taking Ricky Smokes and Drake out but for Brad Baylor he picks him up and throws him into the ropes!
Myka Lockwood comes down and slaps Troy on the floor! Back inside, Jackson off the top…
Jackson Drake wins by pinfall with a 450 splash.
Post-match, Myka and the Vanity Project celebrate their way to the ramp.
Tristan Angels gets a promo video about how he’s the winds of change blowing through NXT and he’s here to bring real class to NXT. He talks about being a seventh generation sheep farmer but knowing he was destined for more than that and his sixth sense for winning and achievements, unlike Myles Borne, who doesn’t even have all five of the normal senses.
He talks about how he’s better than Kam Hendrix, Shiloh Hill, and Hank and Tank, and he’s the star NXT has been longing for, with shoulder broad enough to carry that burden.
And so we go to break.
Back from commercial, we get an NXT Chronicles video about Rhea Ripley.
Zaria makes her entrance and gets on the mic.
She says NXT feels different, there’s a change in the air and it could be anyone’s game. For the first time she’s standing in the middle of the NXT women’s division and no one is holding her back. No dead weight, no fake friends, and she’s starting to realize this is how it always needed to be, with her by herself.
And now she has a clear path to the thing that started this all, the very thing that came between her and Sol Ruca, the catalyst, the NXT Women’s North American Championship. When you spend enough time around something like that, holding it, defending it, you start to feel like it should be yours.
Enter Tatum Paxley.
She says she understands that her title didn’t just fracture Zaria’s relationship with Sol, it shattered it, but that didn’t have anything to do with her, and now she’s here trying to figure out who she is by herself and that’s hard! Tatum gets that more than anybody, but if Zaria were to come for her title, it wouldn’t matter if she scorched the earth.
Paxley has ended friendships too, danced with the devil himself while putting a woman in a casket, and that doesn’t end with Zaria.
Enter Lizzy Rain, wearing a truly godawful pair of neon green snakeskin leggings.
She says Zaria’s right, it really is anyone’s game and she’s the new blood in the locker room, so she wouldn’t mind joining in on the fun. Last week she was the talk of the town, and while the lineage of the North American Championship is grand, wouldn’t it be great to add some heavy metal to the title?
Enter Nikkita Lyons.
She says that Lizzy was the talk of the town is the Nikkita Lyons rub, or the Divine Feline effect, but all she hears is the new flavor of the month shooting way over her head, and she’s seen girls like her come and go, so go touch grass because the new girl smell is already wearing off.
Tatum Paxley starts to talk about title matches but Nikkita sings to interrupt her and says she’s not done with the Maiden of Metal. Zaria lunges for Rain, a brawl breaks out, and one-by-one Zaria takes everybody out and holds the title high before dropping it on the champion.
Vanity Project run into Romeo Moreno backstage and he introduces himself.
They make fun of his painter gimmick and he tries to relate to them on the basis of being new but the Vanity Project aren’t having it.
Noam Dar rolls up and Vanity Project make fun of him for being old, but he’s back and he says Jackson Drake looks like perfect target practice and he challenges him to a match next week.
Myka Lockwood rolls up and slaps a hand on Noam’s shoulder and says Vanity Project are with her. Jackson says they are and if Myka wants to see him slap Dar around that’s fine by him.
They leave and Moreno tells Noam about how he used to watch his matches in Madrid.
Backstage, Tony D’Angelo is walking when Kam Hendrix attacks him from behind and lays him out to send us to break!
Back from commercial, Robert Stone grabs a headset off a random crew member and puts it on, telling Tim that Tony D’Angelo vs. Tavion Heights is off and we’re moving the mixed tag match up from the main event to right now.
Lola Vice and Mr. Iguana (and La Yesca!) make their entrance to set up our next match.
Lola Vice & Mr. Iguana vs. the Culling (Izzi Dame & Niko Vance) (Mixed Tag Match)
Vance and Iguana to start, Niko lays Mr. out and he freezes dead on the mat. Vance with a fireman’s carry, Iguana floats over to a facelock, Niko shrugs him off, gets him in the Gory Special, Lola Vice passes him La Yesca and he slips out and whips Vance with the iguana!
Yesca makes a cover, Niko kicks out, Dame tags in and Vice comes in to light her up with body blows in the corner! Izzi with a flying lariat, passing Lola into the turnbuckles, scoop and a slam, cover for two! Vice with a schoolboy for two, arm drag, overhand chops set up an arm drag, kick sends Dame to the floor, tag to Iguana!
Tijeras sends Niko to the floor, Iguana up top, Vice tags in, diving seated senton to Niki, Meteora off the apron to Dame, the babyface team dance and then pose on the apron together to send us to break!
Back from commercial, Vance slams Iguana, lateral press, cover for two. Trading headbutts, rolling headbutt from Niko and he’s fired up! Block a tag, Izzi crawls around and pulls Vice off the apron and smashes her face into the steel steps! Tilt-a-whirl slam from Vance… NOPE! Tag to Vice at last, lighting Izzi up with kicks, Speedball Kicks on Niko and Mr. Iguana shotgun dropkicks him!
Hip bump, do-si-do, stereo corner hip attacks from the babyface team, cover… DAME KICKS OUT! She nails Lola with a kick, cover for two, off the ropes, cross armbar from Vice, Iguana with a flying armbar on Vance, both pairs shifting to triangle chokes, Niko and Iguana spill to the floor and Vance powerbombs him on the floor!
Izzi gets to the ropes and realizes Mr. Iguana is down, schoolboy from Dame, cover for two! Following it up…
The Culling win by pinfall with a running knee from Izzi Dame on Lola Vice.
Backstage, a frustrated Tavion Heights vents to Myles Borne, who says it might be a good thing because now he has time to prepare for the match. Heights says he stays ready and Robert Stone rolls up and says he kicked Kam Hendrix out and talked to Tony D’Angelo and he’s good for the match, so the main event is back on.
Zaria rolls up and accosts him for letting Lizzy Rain and Nikkita Lyons interrupt her. He says he’s booked a match for next week, her and Nikkita tagging against Lizzy and Tatum Paxley, but she’s upset because she doesn’t want to do tag work ever again. Stone tells her that if she wants a title match, she’ll get through the tag.
Hank and Tank make their entrance ahead of our next match, sending us to break.
Back from commercial, Jaida Parker is smashing up the locker room, frustrated about how she can’t seem to do anything right.
She sits down and Nattie Neidhart rolls up and says what they say about Ms. Parker is true– she’s gotten soft.
DarkState (Cutler James & Osiris Griffin) vs. Hank and Tank (Hank Walker & Tank Ledger)
Walker and James to start, feeling out, tag to Griffin, Hank gets away and tags Ledger in. Front chancery, suplex attempts denied, Osiris gets him up, delayed vertical suplex connects. Cutler back in, quick tags to work him over, DarkState turn things around, Dion Lennox grabs a chair but Saquon Shugars stops him from using it annd yells at him to the point where Cutler and Osiris have to head to the floor and break them up as we go to break.
Back from commercial, James working Ledger over, overhead elbow, into the corner, tag to Griffin. Corner lariat, Cutler with a tilt-a-whirl gutbuster, cover for two. Back and forth, going for it again, Tank slips out, leaps for the corner, tag to Walker! Putting Cutler into the ropes, straight suplex, big senton, clothesline cuts Osiris off when he runs in.
Ledger tags back in, James cuts him off, tag to Griffin, Wasteland, Vader Bomb, cover… HANK BREAKS IT UP! Tag to Cutler, reverse STO / Impaler DDT combination… TANK KICKS OUT! Walker back in, sidestep Osiris to the floor, out after him, James slams him into the apron! Ledger dives on the, gets caught and slammed into his own partner on the floor!
Back inside, pop-up…
DarkState win by pinfall with an assisted tossing powerbomb on Hank Walker.
Backstage, Kelani Jordan gets Lola Vice’s attention and says she really needs to be worried about her more than her other challengers.
Kendal Grey rolls up and says Jordan is in her sights after what she did to Wren Sinclair last week and Kelani scoffs at her caring about friendship more than titles.
We get weird footage of a crew member swapping out Booker T’s headset at the commentary desk.
Footage of Keanu Carver being interviewed outside by a new interviewer follows.
He says this is what they do, they put you in situations you don’t want to be in and he doesn’t want to talk in front of a camera. She gets the camera operator to put the camera down and says she needs to go back with something and she knows he went to Temple University and played football and asks his motivation.
He says he’s just here to get paid, he has a family to feed and fans don’t pay their bills. He’s not here trying to do fancy tricks and get clout online like everybody else, he doesn’t need that, he just has people back home he needs to take care of. He told “Heartbreak Man” Shawn Michaels to his face to either give him a chance or cut him.
If wrestling doesn’t work, he’ll find something that will feed his family. She says everybody needs to survive and he agrees, and says everybody around here pretends to be somebody else but he’s always been the same guy and he always will be. He’s not here to follow rules or authority and if you don’t want to accept it, fine, he’ll go his own way.
She again says she wants to go back with something and he says that’s fine, he knows the camera’s been running this whole time so pick it back up. She asks how he knew about EVIL’s symbol of war, and he says he went to college and didn’t go to class all the time, but when he did, he listened, and what you don’t know is that he’s smart as shit, for real.
And so we go to break.
Back from commercial, we get a Twitter video from Shiloh Hill excited about his match against Ricky Saints last week and running Tristan Angels down.
Commentary hypes up next week’s show.
Tavion Heights is already in the ring and Tony D’Angelo makes his entrance for our next match.
Tavion Heights vs. Tony D’Angelo
Heights in control with a waistlock, takedown, D’Angelo gets back to his feet, Tavion takes him back down, standing switch, Tony with a takedown of his own! Heights with a single leg attempt, roll through, fireman’s carry, D’Angelo slips out, puts him into the turnbuckles, pressing the attack, cover for two.

Tony with a bridging fisherman suplex… STILL NO! Trading elbows, charging and staggering, D’Angelo gets the spear and he’s fired up! Laying in wait, goozle, Heights floats over, belly-to-belly suplex but Kam Hendrix is here and Tavion focuses on him! Slingshotting him into the ring, right hands, sending him to the floor… MYLES BORNE RUNS IN AND LANDS A TOPE CON GIRO ON HENDRIX TO HELP HIS BUDDY OUT!
Back inside…
Tony D’Angelo wins by pinfall with a chokeslam.
Post-match, Tony D’Angelo helps Heights to his feet and shakes his hand…
WILL KROOS ATTACKS FROM OUT OF NOWHERE AND THROWS TONY INTO TAVION!
He stares the camera down and says his name is Mason Rook and he’s arrived in NXT.
That’s the show, folks.
