We haven’t seen former AEW World champion Swerve Strickland on Dynamite or Collision since he lost the title shot vs. EVP gig match to Kenny Omega in March on the road to Dynasty. But that changed on Weds., April 29’s show.
Over the past few weeks we’ve seen the return of the very cool Old West vignettes AEW does for Bandido. It looked like we were getting another on this Dynamite, but instead we got a different kind of tease for the Ring of Honor World champion’s own return to AEW (his last match in the company was Dynasty’s Casino Gauntlet for the TNT title).
Despite the “Wanted” posters for Bandido that were around the town, the luchador wasn’t the person clearing out the saloon in this town. It was Strickland, accompanied by Prince Nana. Using a pistol lighter his manager handed to him, Swerve set one of the posters on fire before tossing it to the ground with scowl.

Bandido has a ROH World title defense coming up at Supercard of Honor in a couple weeks, and that brand’s belt isn’t usually part of his AEW matches and storylines. Strickland’s quest for revenge could have as much to do with his feud with Brody King earlier this year as anything else.
Let us know what you think of this feud for Swerve and Bandido, and if you’re excited to see them wrestle each other — they’ve only gone one-on-one once, way back in Ireland’s OTT in 2018 — in the comments below.
