“This is more important than you – this is our family business.” Let them love! BBC has unveiled the first official trailer for Mint, a unique new romance crime series from filmmaker Charlotte Regan, director of the superb Scrapper a few years back. “Some connections change everything…” Mint is a darkly comic and unconventional drama series about a crime family’s inner life, told through the eyes of its daughter, who is searching for love. It was filmed up in Scotland and around the UK early last year. Emma Laird stars as Shannon, the naively romantic daughter of a crime family – a real-life princess who has never wanted for anything. She meets Arran, a member of a rival gang. Their whirlwind romance begins to unravel the world she’s always known. A darkly comic story of passion, heartbreak and love laced with fear. “A criminally good love story.” The series also stars Lewis Gribben, Laura Fraser, Sam Riley, Lindsay Duncan, and Ben Coyle-Larner as Arran. This looks solid even with this quick trailer. Less than 60 seconds of footage in here and still a handful of dazzling shots that make me really want to see more from this. It’s worth a watch. // Continue Reading ›
