Tonight’s (Apr. 3) episode of SmackDown featured a singles match between Tama Tonga and Uncle Howdy, as part of the bad feud between Wyatt Sicks and MFT. Prior to the match. Tama told Solo Sikoa to stay in the back because he wants to win on his own.
Solo didn’t stay in the back, of course. He came down to the ring with the stolen Wyatt lantern and intended to blast Howdy in the head with it to help Tama win. That plan didn’t work out when the ref clearly saw what the not-very-stealthy Solo was up to. Tonga then argued with Solo about what he was doing out there. That distraction was enough for Tonga to turn around right into Howdy’s finisher and get pinned.
Tama was furious after the match was over and wanted to be done with this Wyatt lantern nonsense that’s been going on for months. Tonga and Sikoa had something of a mini tug-of-war over it, before Tonga got control of the lantern and left it on the ring apron for Howdy to finally take back.

Later in the show, Tonga told Solo that the “stupid lantern” was tearing them apart. Now that it’s back with Howdy, MFT can go back to taking over SmackDown and winning all the titles. Solo seemed on board with that plan (after they beat the Wyatts), but he had a look on his face that tells me someone is probably getting kicked out of MFT very soon.
Are you glad that Howdy got his Wyatt lantern back, and now we can move on with MFT failing to win every title on the blue brand? Let me know in the comments below, Cagesiders.
