Dark Star Pictures has unleashed the official trailer for a bonkers new all-out crazy comedy called $POSITIONS, a crypto comedy about a guy getting in too deep with his “investments.” This first premiered at the 2025 SXSW Film Festival last year and played at Fantasia, Chicago Underground, and many other fests. $POSITIONS follows a blue-collar Midwesterner as he attempts to save his family from the throes of poverty by investing their savings into speculative cryptocurrencies. As his investment strategy decays into a full-on gambling addiction, he sends his life into a nightmarish anxiety-inducing downward spiral. This stars Michael Kunicki, Trevor Dawkins, and Kaylyn Carter. $POSITIONS is also thrilled to introduce Vinny Kress, an aspiring actor from Chicago with Down syndrome, in his first leading role in this as Vinny. The film has been compared to the Safdie Brothers’ high-octane films like Uncut Gems, as well as the absurdist off-the-wall comedy of Tom Green and the Farrelly Brothers.
