New Trailer for Kurt Russell’s ‘Soldier’ 90s Sci-Fi Action 4K Restoration​

“His training had prepared him for anything – except this.” Arrow Video has launched a new trailer for the 4K release of this cult classic sci-fi action movie from the late 1990s called Soldier. I’m actually a big fan of this movie – I loved it when it came out in 1998 and watched it quite a few times back then. Soldier is one of director Paul W.S. Anderson’s 90s extra cheesy action movies – yes it’s dumb and campy but fun and kind of endearing cause this soldier has a soft side. After the one-two punch of Mortal Kombat & Event Horizon, W.S. Anderson teamed up with iconic action star Kurt Russell and writer David Webb Peoples (Blade Runner, Unforgiven) for the thrilling sci-fi adventure. Unfortunately it was a huge box office bomb. Oh well. A soldier trained from birth is deemed obsolete and dumped on a waste planet where he is reluctantly taken in by a community of defenseless, stranded wayfarers. Russell stars with Connie Nielsen, Jason Scott Lee, Michael Chiklis, & Jason Isaacs. Arrow’s intro: “packed with spectacular special effects & gripping action setpieces, Soldier is an underseen gem that demands rediscovery with this brand new 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray edition.” Yep!
