Ticket sales have reportedly perked up for both nights of WrestleMania 42 coming up next month in Las Vegas. But WWE hasn’t packed the house at Allegiant Stadium or anything, so there’s always room for one of its biggest stars ever.
No, we’re not talking about the long-awaited return of the Final Boss, coming to finally claim Cody Rhodes’ soul. It’s the just-retired Never Seen 17 himself, John Cena, who’s coming back to host WrestleMania 42. He told us he’d be coming to Sin City on April 18-19, presumably as part of his new, non-wrestling job with WWE. He did so from some overcast place where his current full-time job in Hollywood has taken him:
“Ah, retired life in the sun. I’m kidding! Check out the backdrop. I’m shooting a movie for Netflix called ‘One Attempt Remaining’ which you can see when it comes out. I’m also on the road which is ironic cause there’s a road to WrestleMania going on. And, Hollywood is really close to Vegas. Rumor around this town is WrestleMania needs a host. Well, I’m already on that road so I will see you at WrestleMania.”
Since retirement, my “road” has looked a little different… but now I can officially say I’m headed to WrestleMania!!!! See you in Las Vegas! pic.twitter.com/nyNypOhRpk

In case you’re wondering, One Attempt Remaining is a comedy film Cena will co-star in with Jennifer Garner that’s currently targeting an October drop on Netflix.
As for Cena, he tapped out in his final match in December (if you’ve forgotten about that, I know a guy who can talk you through it, but — fair warning — he’s still mad about it). And he’s said he wouldn’t wear the jorts and “Fruity Peebles” shirts post-retirement, so the big question is… are we getting suit-and-tie John Cena at ‘Mania?
