While Penta is busy in AAA setting up a match against Vikingo for the Intercontinental championship on April 11, we now know it’s at least possible he won’t even be Intercontinental champion by that time.
That’s because he issued an open challenge for that very title on this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw at Madison Square Garden in New York, adding to an already stacked card loaded with the biggest stars WWE has to offer. Someone has already answered the call for that match too:
WWE has not officially announced that this will indeed be the match but the official account retweeted Kingston’s above tweet, indicating it’s likely to take place. When doing his usual preview for Raw today, General Manager Adam Pearce didn’t make mention of it either but he did run down the rest of the card:
- World Tag Team Championship: The Usos (c) vs. The Vision
- Women’s Tag Team Championship: The Irresistible Forces (c) vs. Bayley & Lyra Valkyria
- Intercontinental championship: Penta (c) vs. Kofi Kingston
- CM Punk and Roman Reigns under one roof
- Brock Lesnar responds to Oba Femi
- Finn Balor has something to say
- Iyo Sky vs. Raquel Rodriguez
